George Orwell said that many people refuse to follow their ideas to their logical conclusion (or something along that line). Bob Brown and everyone else on his side of politics are shining examples of this. His support for a 'Free Tibet' is implicitly tied to support for the Dalai Lama. Now from what I understand Bob is a practising homosexual (which doesn't concern me at all) however the Dalai Lama and his religion are explicitly anti homosexual and forbid oral and anal sex, yet Bob gives his full support to the man and the cause. The cause itself is not a 'Free Tibet' but the reintroduction of an undemocratic theocracy virtually a religious dictatorship, why Bob considers this a good thing is not clear.
A similar process is at work in the left support for the moslem and or Palestinian causes. Again the very people who need the freedoms that western society provides, give support to strict theocratic dictatorships which would probably hang or stone these very morons who support them. The only true democratic state in the middle east is Israel yet it receives no support from Bob and his mates, yet I bet he would fawn all over any number of moslem terrorists if given the chance. Funny how Islam strictly forbids homosexuality on pain of death yet homosexuality is rife in Islamic societies. Even Yasser Arafat was known to prefer to 'putt from the rough' and he liked the company of boys.
These people are incapable of coming up with an idea and following it to its natural conclusion they think with their feelings and because they feel it so deeply it must be right. Emotional Drongos the lot of them.
