The Evening after Le Tour (Strange French Custom)
The top two photos are of a strange ceremony I came across outside the catholic church in Chamonix. There were a number of children and adults dressed in clown and animal outfits along with a rather strange band of musicians. They had erected a large Wicker Man which they danced around and after some time they then set fire to the Wicker Man. This caused much joy and laughter.
Afterwards I retired the Cafe Le Terrasse for a cold beer and a steak sandwich. It was one of the pubs where one felt comfortable and met pleasant company. Another fine day.
